Our Mission
At The Good Dog Ranch our mission is to rescue at-risk dogs in Kern County, while promoting responsible pet ownership and humane treatment. Every year thousands of dogs are euthanized in our local public shelters. These dogs need a life line and we are dedicated to giving them just that!
By increasing adoption opportunities, coordinating safe and efficient transport with trusted rescue partners and reducing pet overpopulation through accessible spay and neuter programs we give unwanted Kern County dogs their opportunity at life. A good dog just wants a good life and through our rescue efforts, community education and ongoing outreach, we strive to create a more compassionate community where every dog will live to be the good dog we know they can be.

What We Do
Rescue Transport
Safe transportation between shelters and rescue organizations.
Foster Transport
Assisting dogs with their ride out of the shelter and into their foster home.
Freedom Rides
Every transport opens space for another dog to be saved.
Our Why
California shelters are overflowing. Meanwhile, rescues and families across the country are ready to save dogs—they just can't reach them. Transportation is often the missing piece that determines whether a dog gets a second chance or never leaves the shelter alive. Rescue transport programs exist specifically to bridge that gap between overcrowded shelters and places where dogs have a much better chance of adoption.
Our mission is to ensure that when a dog ends up in a shelter, it's only a temporary stop—not the
end of their story.
